ABOUT JOHN (JV)
John Valle (or simply "JV") is a documentary style photographer, and 3D designer, based in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. John’s artistic practice focuses on the overlooked aspects of America’s industrial might: decommissioned textile mills, abandoned mines, railroads, and machinery. These subjects reveal not only what we build, but what we abandon and forget. Drawing inspiration from Depression Era photographers like Walker Evans and Jack Delano, John’s style blends direct documentation with a sense of pictorialism, allowing viewers to explore vignettes of a begone era. His work aims to archive the fleeting vestiges of America’s industrial past, and to reflect on how the industrious nature of previous generations have shaped our country today.
